Tales From The Web Master
This is where I write
editorials about Red Springs ,the Internet ,Music ,Movies
,and more. Just as soon as I get off my lazy butt
and write something.
Gravity Hill:
Growing up in Red Springs and the
south you hear ghost stories. One popular ghost
story you hear around the Red Springs area is of Gravity
Hill. Below is the legend of Gravity Hill taken from
http://www.creakydoor.com/NC.HTM
Gravity Hill - It was once said that a woman and
her kid and dog were killed when their car stalled and an
18-wheeler came by and hit them instantly. And from that
day on, if you park at the bottom of the hill and cut your
car off, she is known to push you back up the hill out of
harms ways.
I have always wanted to check out Gravity Hill.
So this past Saturday me my good friend William, my 5yr
old son Ryan and my nephew Thorn went there.
A couple weeks age me and William began talking
about going there but had no idea how to get there every
one we talked to had heard of the place but did not know
how to get there. This past Saturday my Dad, William ,and
Me were sitting around my Computer Shop watching The Sci
Fi Channel which was playing horror-Sci-Fi movies that
day. When me and my Dads friend Larry came to see us
and to talk about computers. We were watching some
horror movie and Larry said that was weird. So I replied
speaking about weird do you know where Gravity Hill is he
reply yes. Larry told us how to get there. Me and William
decide to go. I walk next door which is my mom and
dads house to see if my son wanted to go or stay. I
asked him you want to go see a ghost? He said yes and
jumped up and put on his shoes and jacket. My nephew Thorn
also wanted to go. I gabbed my video camera and we were
off.
Gravity Hill is located between Maxton and
Laurinburg which is a short ride from Red
Springs. Of course we got lost on the way. But we did get
there. At the end of a road there is a slight hill
from the stories I heard I thought it was going to be a
big hill. after you go down the hill you come to a T
interception if you park in the middle of this
interception and put you car in neutral your car will roll
back behind the stop sign out of harms way. We tried it
and it works. We were like wow the legend is true
the woman's ghost pushes you back out of the road.
Of course science has an explanation for it if you do a
google search on the internet you find that there are
hundreds of gravity hills around the world in places like
Florida, New Jersey, Ireland, South Korea, and Australia.
There is even another one here in NC. They say that
Earth's Gravity is not even in some places. Another answer
is that it is an illusion that there is no hill that it
just looks that way. We plan to go back during the
day to see what it is like during the day and take
pictures of the road to see if the road is uneven and so
on. If you would like to view our video from Gravity Hill
go to our media page. For me I
hope it is the unknown pushing the car cause the world
need the unexplained.

The Beer Church:
The other day my future brother in law
Mike found a website
www.beerchurch.com. The site is for a group beer
drinkers that promote drinking
responsible ,
raising money for various
Charities, and they except all their
members to try to make the world a better place by helping
out their community. The Beer Church is based out of
Seattle
WA. but they have over 100,000
registered members from 26 different countries around the
world. You can even become a Beer Church Minister
with this title you will be able to conduct weddings
legally!! I was impressed when I first saw this site cause
it is not often you read something about beer and beer
drinkers that is positive. However I don't think I'll be
setting aside my Christian beliefs ,and joining the
Beer Church but I must give them a thumbs up for trying to
improve the world and of course their site is also worth a
look.
